“Lawd, you know I need my job, please bless me with a calm spirit today!”

Do you ever do this in your car before you go into work? If you just said “No” you are lying! Lol… We’ve all done this at some point in our lives right? Whether it’s been work, family gatherings, some party you were invited too that you were perfectly happy not being invited too!

Some days we just need a little extra help in the “walking in love” or “extra strength” areas. And I’m on that list too, I need help in lots of areas of my life, I think, oh, it will be fine or I can handle it myself but can I really? Nope! And that’s ok. I’ve had to come to a point in my life where I’m ok with that. Has it been easy to get to this point? No. Do I slip up sometimes still? Yes. We all will. The nice thing is everyday that we wake up is another chance to try again and ask for help in whatever area of your life you are needing it. Maybe for you that means going to see a therapist. There is no shame in finding someone to talk to that is on the outside of your situation. Someone with a fresh perspective. I think everyone should talk to a therapist at some point in their life! Maybe you need help controlling your temper. Maybe it’s with time management, maybe it’s with finances. Maybe it’s with a relationship in your life that isn’t doing well. Whatever the case may be… you just need to ask for help. To whomever you believe in, a higher power, the Universe, the Lord God… whomever you ask for help wants to help you, you don’t have to deal with it alone.

I was doing my 5 min Bible Study For a Less Stressed life this morning and something in there really made me think. It said, “When the bills are piling up and you can’t make ends meet, Tell God about it. Every time you insecurities are triggered by something someone said, whisper a prayer to God. Regardless of who hurt your feelings, share it with the Lord. No matter what stress comes your way-and there may be many- Let the Lord be your first stop.”

Is that my 1st stop usually? No. Should it be? Yes. Is it the easiest 1st option, probably. It’s just not the 1st thing that comes to mind usually but I’m going to try, everyday to keep that at the front of my mind. Having issues with someone, shoot a quick prayer up. When I’ve done this in the past it always works out way better than when I try to deal with things on my own. Big surprise huh?!

My point here is.. ask for the help. It doesn’t make you less of a person. In fact it probably makes you a stronger person, being able to admit that you need help. And, you will feel less stressed and your day will be much better for it!
