I didn’t do that. Oh that? Yes, I did that!

Have you ever walked into your house, or a room and asked your kids, “who did that?” No? Well feel free to come on over and ask each one of my kids! You will probably get the same answer I do! “It wasn’t me” or ” I didn’t do that.” Oh really, if it wasn’t one of you three and it wasn’t me or your dad then who was it?

We have a rotating chore “wheel” and each week the kids switch the chore they are doing for the week. Someone takes care of the kitchen, someone takes care of the living rooms, and someone takes care of the bathrooms and the cat litter. They also have two days each week they get to do their own laundry. Each week when I ask someone, did you do your chores, their answer is ,” well, so and so didn’t do it last week.” Ok, well….. it’s your turn this week and you get to do them!

We try to make our kids be responsible and understand how much work it is to clean up after everyone else, or have pets to take care of but the responsibility seems to always fall back on me, which is fine, I signed up for it but then how do we make them responsible and independent? Or just kind respectful humans!! Now, I will say, my boys will help me carry in groceries or hold doors open for me now and then so there is that but have you ever just wondered, am I doing this right? A friend recently told me she wanted a refund for any instructions she was given because there are none! NO INSTRUCTIONS! ASSEMBLY IS REQUIRED!!

We have to build them up!! But how do we know we are doing it right? Or even doing ok? And on top of making our small humans respectful and responsible, we have to take care of ourselves!! AHHHHH!!! I don’t know how to do this!!

I got all my water in today, but I didn’t have time to exercise. If I exercise it’s probably because I ate a loaf of bread for supper and am trying to take it back! Gosh, I wonder why I can’t lose weight!!! That’s a future post because I can go on and on about that! I am not a juggler and I know for a fact I cannot juggle mom, work, kids, appointments, eating healthy, drinking water, exercising, spending time with my husband etc. Something always falls and as a mom, I’d rather it be me that someone else!

Until next time, get your water in, keep your chin up, you’ve got this mama! Just keep swimming!
